Crystal Cove began not as a resort, but as a simple tilapia fishpond property owned by the Aquino family in the quiet municipality of Calatagan, Batangas. The land had been in the family for two generations — a working piece of coastline that fed the family and little else.
Everything changed when Lola Carmen, the family matriarch, had a dream. She dreamed of opening the property to guests — of strangers arriving tired and leaving refreshed, of children playing in water the family had always kept to themselves. The family listened, and in 2012 they broke ground on what would become Crystal Cove Beach Resort.
The resort soft-opened in 2013 with just five modest cottages and a small stretch of private beach. Word spread quietly, the way good things do. By 2016 they had expanded to 14 rooms. Today, Crystal Cove is home to 25 rooms and suites, two restaurants, three pools, and a team of 60 — all built on Lola Carmen's dream of sharing this coastline with every Filipino who walks through the gate.
Crystal Cove is committed to protecting the coastline that makes us who we are. Here's what we're doing to make sure it lasts.
Our solar panel installation now powers approximately 60% of the resort's electricity needs, reducing our carbon footprint significantly year over year.
Every last Saturday of the month, our team and volunteer guests clean the shoreline. We've collected over 2 tons of waste since 2019.
Single-use plastics are banned throughout the resort. We use bamboo, stainless, and compostable alternatives across all dining and amenity areas.
In partnership with the local barangay, we operate a coral nursery that has transplanted over 800 coral fragments to the reef near the resort since 2020.
Awarded to the top 10% of hospitality businesses worldwide, based on consistent traveler reviews.
Recognized as the province's top beach destination for guest experience, facilities, and community impact.
Honored for our coral nursery program, plastic-free initiative, and commitment to environmental stewardship.
